I'm a little sick of these rumors, but I think it's worth reporting anyway. After coming close to striking a deal with China Mobile only to have talks fails near the end, Apple appears to be about to jump into bed with China Unicom on an 3G iPhone deal:
Apple Inc and China Unicom are close to an agreement to introduce the iPhone 3G into China, the world's biggest mobile phone market, industry officials said. It has been reported that Apple has been in talks with China Mobile since 2007 to introduce the iPhone into China but both sides haven't announced any agreement. Shanghai Daily
Of course, iPhones have been selling "unofficially" in China from the very beginning since they launched. And this announcment doesn't really make much difference to anyone in China who might be dying to buy one. Chances are they've bought one already.
