Tibet's oldest woman turned reportedly 118 years old yesterday. And I don't mean to be rude or nothing, but boy does she ever look it. Her skin almost resembles a smoked alligator. I'm not sure I'd want to live to be 118. I mean, how enjoyable can life be after 100 right? You must have aches and pains in every single part of your body.
Now if you're thinking that she managed to live so long through some kind of peaceful zen Tibetan mindset, it seems you might be mistaken.
When asked about Tsering's secret of longevity, Yangjen said it was just tea, minced beef and zanba, a Tibetan food made of fried barley flour. "Plus a hot temper, maybe," she said. "My mother was very outspoken and straightforward in her younger days. Sometimes she couldn't control her temper." sina
The picture below looks as if it might have been taken after she got some cake smushed in her face. That's an unusual birthday tradition in China, one that I was never really a fan of. I don't like getting cake smushed in my face, I much prefer to eat it. And I'm pretty sure that if I was as old as this old fossil, I certainly wouldn't put up with that kind of crap.
